Competencies are a combination of observable and applied knowledge, skills and behaviors that help identify the expectations for individuals, teams, leaders and even organizations.
Competencies focus on how value is created not what is actually accomplished. Therefore, competency models are the "people performance" expectations that align with business strategy.
